Job summary

Daikin Applied in Faribault, MN is seeking a skilled technician to test and troubleshoot HVAC components in a climate-controlled facility. You will operate test stands, read blueprints, and document results while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Starting wage is $34.93/hour for a weekend shift (Fri-Sun, 6:00am-6:30pm) with opportunities for growth, tuition reimbursement, and pension benefits as part of a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, push, pull and stand for long periods in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Must read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• 2-year trade school EPA certificate in A/C Refrigeration or equivalent per company approval.

Responsibilities

• Connect and operate test stand unit and adjust controls to meet specs.
• Identify safe testing amperage/voltage.
• Read schematics and blueprints for proper assembly.
• Use computer test software effectively.
• Complete required test documentation timely.
• Troubleshoot and resolve unit performance issues in electrical/refrigeration systems.
• Communicate test status to team and supervisors.
• Use basic and specialized tools to complete tests.
• Train new members on machines, procedures and safety.

Your Responsibilities:

• Connect and operate test stand unit and adjusts controls as necessary to meet specifications
• Ability to locate and identify the safe testing amperage and voltage
• Read schematics and blueprints to ensure proper assembly
• Ability to use computer test software effectively
• Complete required test documentation in a timely manner
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve unit performance abnormalities within electrical and refrigeration systems
• Communicate the status of the test process to team members and supervisors
• Effective use of specialized and basic tools necessary to complete test process
• Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production
• Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean work area
• Follow and understand HOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements
• Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards
• Read and interpret blue prints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements
• Ability to use hand tools
• Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks)
• All other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• 2-year trade school (EPA) certificate in A/C Refrigeration or equivalent education approved by company
