General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Test Procedure Writer / Engineer to document and validate step-by-step test procedures for the IPS program at the IPS Compatibility Test Facility in Philadelphia, PA.

You will translate engineering requirements into actionable procedures, collaborate with Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, and Software teams, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 0–5 years of post-graduate engineering experience in hardware, manufacturing, software, or highly regulated testing environment or post-graduate military experience within Submarine Force in a technical/electronics/analytical rating.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret-level security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and maintain step-by-step technical test procedures using operation manuals and verification matrices.
  • Interpret ERDs and PRDs to identify testable conditions and define acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Design, Electrical, and Software Engineers to document inputs and test environments.
  • Perform validation walkthroughs with technicians to ensure accuracy, flow, and safety.
  • Ensure written procedures conform to regulations and internal quality standards.
  • Submit, track, and archive documents and test records via EDMS.
  • Develop formal government correspondence for document approvals.
  • Interface with customers to ensure alignment.
  • Travel to test facility as needed to observe procedures in action.
