Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Test Procedure Writer / Engineer to draft and validate step-by-step technical test procedures for IPS-related systems. You will work across Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, and Software teams to ensure procedures meet engineering specs and safety requirements.

You will review ERDs and PRDs, perform walkthroughs with technicians, and manage EDMS documentation. Occasional travel to the test facility is required as part of validation and approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience in hardware, manufacturing, software, or regulated testing environment, or relevant military service.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and maintain step-by-step technical test procedures aligned with engineering specs.
• Interpret ERDs and PRDs to define testable conditions and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with Systems, Design, Electrical, and Software Engineers to document test environments.
• Conduct physical or digital test drives and walkthroughs to validate procedures for safety and accuracy.
• Ensure procedures comply with regulatory and internal quality standards.
• Manage document control through the EDMS system and track revisions.
• Prepare formal correspondence to government for document approvals.
• Interface with internal and external customers to align requirements.
• Travel to the test facility as needed to verify procedures.
