Job summary

MDS Staffing seeks a Test Engineering Manager to lead our test development and production test engineering teams in an EMS setting. You will own the design and optimization of automated test strategies for complex PCBA and electromechanical systems, bridging design requirements with factory floor execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8+ years in a PCBA EMS/manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Robust knowledge of electronics manufacturing flows (SMT, through-hole, mixed-technology).
• Familiarity with IPC, ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural development of standardized, reusable test equipment and automated test environments (ICT, Flying Probe, and Functional Testing).
• Oversee design, implementation, and optimization of automated, cost-effective test strategies for PCBA and electromechanical systems.
• Mentor, supervise, and expand a team of engineers, test developers, and technicians, managing budgets and timelines.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Production Operations, and Quality teams to champion Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM).
• Drive continuous improvement: analyze failure trends, debug root causes, and optimize factory test cycles.
