Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Test Engineer-II to join our Test team. You will support new product and sustaining test engineering for a wide range of digital and mixed‑signal devices.

You will develop test programs, debug, and validate for NPIs, lead platform migrations between ATE systems, and drive value engineering to reduce costs while maintaining quality. Collaboration across global teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with 0–2.5 years of experience in semiconductor IC development.
• Strong understanding of digital and analog circuits from transistor to system level.
• Hands-on experience with ATE hardware/software development (e.g., Diamond X, J750, Uflex).
• Expertise in silicon development, validation, qualification, and correlation methodologies.
• Advanced statistical data analysis skills; scripting languages (e.g., Perl) and tools (YieldHub).
• Familiarity with version control systems (GIT, SVN, Perforce).
• Proficient in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
• Skilled in bench lab equipment (oscilloscopes, voltmeters).
• Experience with customers to address technical and logistical concerns.

Responsibilities

• Perform test program development, debug, and Silicon validation for NPI.
• Lead platform conversions between ATE platforms.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to improve test hardware/software.
• Lead cross-functional teams on test software engineering for products.
• Provide technical leadership in resolving test software/hardware issues.
• Support contract manufacturers with tactical engineering guidance.
