Job summary

AM General is seeking a Test Engineer to support system and component testing for DoD ground vehicles in Auburn Hills, MI. You will lead data acquisition, develop test plans, and install instrumentation to capture critical performance data for analysis.

The role requires 3–5+ years of experience with data collection, MATLAB/LabVIEW expertise, and familiarity with military standards. Collaboration with suppliers and customers is essential for success and safety compliance.

Qualifications

3–5+ years of experience with data acquisition and installation of recording devices in DoD ground vehicles.
Experience with data reduction techniques and analysis tools (MATLAB, LabVIEW, Campbell, DEWESoft).
Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on fabrication shop experience.
Familiarity with military standards and DoD vehicle development procedures.
Ability to obtain security clearance and proficient in Excel (formulas, graphs, macros).

Responsibilities

Lead/test system, subsystem, and component level test plans and reports.
Assist engineers in defining test parameters with suppliers and customers.
Install and monitor test instrumentation during vehicle testing and data collection.
Develop instrumentation lists and procure, calibrate, maintain test equipment.
Prepare test result summaries and write test documentation.
