Job summary

AM General is seeking a Test Engineer to join our Product Engineering team in Michigan. The role focuses on developing test plans, installing data-collection instrumentation, and leading data-driven analysis for ground vehicle systems used by the US military and allies.

You will work across lab and vehicle environments, coordinating with suppliers and customers, and ensuring safety and compliance while delivering robust test reports and actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems) or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience with data acquisition and recording devices in DoD ground vehicles.
• Experience with data reduction techniques and analysis tools (MATLAB, LabVIEW, Campbell, DEWESoft).
• Hands-on fabrication/shop familiarity recommended.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support system, subsystem, and component level testing; develop test plans and reports.
• Define test parameters with suppliers, partners, and customers; monitor test data acquisition.
• Install and monitor instrumentation during vehicle testing; perform FFT, Order, and fatigue analyses.
