Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a Test Engineer to join the SLBM team at NSWC-Dahlgren in Dahlgren, VA. This on-site, full-time role requires a Secret clearance and 2+ years in software/test engineering.

You will design and maintain automated tests, write test plans, and collaborate with developers and government customers to resolve defects. The ideal candidate has strong Linux experience, C++ familiarity, and robust requirements traceability, with excellent communication for daily customer interaction

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software/systems testing experience.
• Experience running/writing automation scripts.
• Comfortable reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Strong requirements traceability skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, and system-level).
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface directly and professionally with government customers daily.
• Occasionally present technical testing documentation.
