Job summary

SimVentions seeks a Test Engineer to join the SLBM team at NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. This full-time, on-site role designs and maintains automated test scripts, develops test plans, and executes testing across levels, collaborating with developers and government customers.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of software testing experience, proficiency in test automation and Linux, strong requirements traceability, and excellent communication for daily customer interaction and occasional technical

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software/systems testing experience or equivalent education.
• Experience running/writing automation scripts or code.
• Comfort with reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Proven ability to document and resolve complex software issues.
• Experience linking requirements to test cases and managing test artifacts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers.
• Strong teamwork and ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, system-level).
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface directly with government customers daily.
• Occasionally present technical testing documentation.
