Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. in Dahlgren, VA seeks a Test Engineer to join the SLBM team on-site at NSWCDD.

You will design and maintain automated test scripts, write detailed test plans, and run manual and automated testing across multiple levels, collaborating with developers and government customers. Requires 2+ years of software/systems testing, Linux experience, C++ familiarity, DOORS/Jira/Azure DevOps, and US citizenship for an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software/systems testing experience or equivalent education.
• Experience running/writing automation scripts or code.
• Comfortable reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Proven ability to trace requirements to test cases and manage test artifacts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers.
• Strong teamwork and the ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, and system-level).
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface directly with government customers daily; occasionally present testing docs.
