Job summary

Amphenol Fiber Systems International in Allen, Texas, is seeking a Test Design Engineer to own test requirements for QPL and New Development Projects, developing test processes, fixture designs, schedules, and cost estimates. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and operations to ensure test coverage for fiber optic assemblies.

You will lead test activities including vibration, shock, and temperature testing, interpret specifications, and prepare detailed data sheets and customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME/EE/IE) required.
• 2-5 years' related experience.
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for ITAR compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications in English.
• Strong technical skills across mechanical, electronics, and optics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Operate standard electronics lab equipment for testing fiber optics.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans, procedures, and processes for fiber optic assemblies.
• Create test fixtures and data sheets; prepare reports for customers.
• Support production and new product development testing (vibration, shock, temperature).
• Lead and participate in design reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Define test setup; collect and analyze data for trends.
• Support offsite testing and cost/schedule estimation.
• Research new requirements and industry standards for inclusion into processes.
• Provide training and guidance to other employees.
