Job summary

Amphenol Fiber Systems International in Allen, TX is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Manufacturing Engineering Team. You will assist with design, prototyping, testing, and process improvements to meet schedule and cost targets.

The role requires hands-on manufacturing experience, CAD skills (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems. You will also manage the 3D print farm and participate in lean initiatives and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Experience in electronic assembly, cable/connector or precision manufacturing preferred.
• Familiar with ERP/MRP, shop-floor data, and MS Office.
• U.S. Citizen or permanent resident for I TAR requirements.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• CAD modeling skills with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Proficient in 3D printing and slicing software.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude; knowledge of Lean/5S.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, testing, and validation of products and processes.
• Build, modify, and troubleshoot prototypes, fixtures, and test setups.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production and test equipment.
• Manage 3D print farm setup, monitoring, and post-processing.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical/process issues and propose solutions.
• Prepare technical docs and updates for engineers and teams.
• Assist continuous improvement efforts (Lean/Kaizen) to boost OEE.
• Support onboarding and training for production staff.
• Maintain a safe workplace and follow EH&S policies.
