Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a results-driven Sales Representative to grow our foodservice customer base in the Bismarck region. You will educate clients on ordering platforms, tailor product recommendations, and drive pricing strategies to maximize sales.

This role requires regular field visits in varied weather and a valid driver’s license. You will collaborate with marketing, supply chain and customer service to ensure seamless product delivery, manage a territory, and pursue new business

Qualifications

• 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license is required, and motor vehicle record must be in good standing.
• Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
• Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold call to develop new business.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• A competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals.
• Problem solving ability, organization and negotiation skills.
• Team up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Tech-savviness; proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus.
• Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to drive a personal motor vehicle for regular check-ins, site visits and follow-ups.

Responsibilities

• Own and nurture customer relationships in a team-based selling model.
• Educate customers on ordering platforms.
• Provide menu consultations, product recommendations and pricing strategies.
• Sell to customers, increase case growth and acquire new business.
• Deliver sales presentations and tailor sales approaches to individual customers.
• Manage time and territory effectively.
• Collaborate with Specialists on penetration opportunities and new account openings.
• Work with marketing, supply chain and customer service to ensure seamless product delivery.
• Identify prospective customers using market intelligence databases, business directories, existing-client leads, organizations, clubs, trade shows and conferences.
• Manage deliveries according to the transportation department's routing schedule.
• Troubleshoot order-process issues including delivery mis-picks, short on loads and stock-outs.
• Monitor market conditions, product innovations, competitors' products, prices and sales.
• Share competitive and market information with customers.
• Conduct regular customer check-ins, site visits and follow-ups.
• Work daily outside the office in the assigned territory and visit customers in variable weather and temperature conditions.
