SALES TERRITORY MANAGER from the FOOD Industry based in Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, or Wisconsin. This is a home based position with a regional focus on states mentioned above.
Position Overview
A Global, Fast Growing and Publicly Traded Manufacturing Leader, Ranked #1 in its field and known for producing essential products for the food industry is currently seeking to hire a highly skilled SR. SALES TERRITORY MANAGER that will be remote based in any of the following states: ILLINOIS, MINNESOTA, IOWA or WISCONSIN. This is position will travel to visit clients at territories assigned. Will be responsible for managing and serving clients across the states of Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin in the achievement of the objectives of the business. This will be accomplished primarily through participation in the development of the Regional strategic business plan and the resultant effective integration within the USA. Maintain and manage a sales territory that achieves budgeted sales objectives. Develop and maintain working relationships with a broad range of key contacts at assigned customers. Focused on selling food products to Food Manufacturers in the Beef, Chicken and Pork Industries. This position reports directly to a Regional Sales Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1.- Focused onselling products to Food Manufacturers in the Beef, Chicken and Pork Industries.
2.- Shared responsibility for business planning through participation in the budgeting process by providing short and long term sales forecasts. Will have responsibility for managing costs within budgets for assigned industries and accounts targets and customers.
3.- Manage the territory sales pipeline: from identifying new business opportunities and customers and targeted accounts to regular sales, mobilizing people and coordinating their activities to effectively achieve success, specifically for field technicians and customer service.
4.- Increase sales within assigned geographic territory by increasing volume at existing customers, increasing scope of products used at existing customers, contacting and developing new commercial relationship and by transitioning customers using competitors’ products.
5.- Achieving and even exceeding sales budgets.
6.- Prioritize sales opportunities in order to achieve the sales growth expected.
7.- High cooperation with TS, R&D, CS, SCM into this process.
8.- Maintain frequent and effective communication with sales and the service organization to provide clear and accurate instructions, when necessary.
9.- Coordinate with the local Diversification unit to jointly identify, manage and cross-sell Company diversified product portfolio applicable to the meat processing industry.
10.- Manage targeted accounts and customer relationships.
11.- Resolve customer problems and concerns through proactive personal efforts. Develop effective plans to resolve customer problems by effective utilization of internal resources.
12.- Collects information on product performance, market trends, and competitive developments.
13.- Maintains knowledge of product profitability and specific product emphasis.
14.- The role consists of approximately 80% Account Management and 20% Business Development, with a primary focus on maintaining and growing existing client relationships while identifying selective opportunities for new business expansion.
15.- This position requires approximately 70% travel to client sites, supporting client engagement, territory coverage, and business development initiatives.
Requirements:
1.- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Biology, Business, International Commerce or related field.
2.- Proven experience dealing and selling products to the areas such as: Purchasing, C-Level and Distributors.
3.- 7 plus years of experience as a "Sales Territory Manager or Sales Account Manager" selling products to Food Manufacturers in the Beef, Chicken and Pork Industries.
4.- Will have an expert understanding of the total business and its capabilities coupled with a broad awareness of customers and their business objectives. Additionally, the incumbent will have a broad understanding of the total business, including its’ strategic focus, competitive pressure, as well as specific knowledge of the industry environment.
5.- Will have an in-depth knowledge of the theories and practices of sales functions. Will be an expert in own field, inside and outside the organization, and have expertise in pricing concepts and product portfolio management skills and experience.
6.- Must be an excellent team player who is a self-starter. Incumbent must be highly motivated and be an affirmative advocate for our customers.
7.- Specialized knowledge: Meat processing background and knowledge desirable.
8.- Skills: MS Office-advanced level; CRM Tools-medium/high level.
9.- Well-developed communication and diplomacy skills.
10.- Languages: English-required / Spanish-preferred.
