Job summary

Hood Distribution, established in 1899, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, plywood and related products. We currently operate twenty-three locations across the eastern US and Caribbean markets.

ML Campbell Outside Sales Representatives maintain existing and establish new customers in the territory, selling paints and stains to cabinetry, millwork, construction and architecture industries. Salary base range: $48,500–$55,000 plus unlimited commission (Total Target $80,000).

Qualifications

• 1–3 yrs in paint/stains or related sales experience.
• Fluent in paint/stain industry terminology.
• Ability to call on customers and identify decision makers.
• Strong business acumen and creative thinking to close sales.
• Excellent verbal communications and public speaking skills.
• Strong writing ability, analytical and persuasive skills.
• Able to multi-task and execute time-sensitive tasks.
• Excellent planning and territory management skills.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle; US passport or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts.
• Present, promote, and sell products to cabinet and millwork industries.
• Adjust presentations based on paint and stain factors.
• Focus sales efforts by evaluating customer volume and opportunities.
• Submit orders via price lists and literature; maintain records.
• Provide activity reports and territory analyses to management.
• Monitor competitors and market trends; report findings.
• Resolve customer complaints with effective solutions.
