Job summary

Hood Distribution is seeking an Inside Sales Representative at our Durham, CT facility. This role focuses on managing a geographic territory, growing customer relations and driving sales through outbound calls, emails, and social selling in a transactional yet consultative environment.

Base salary plus commission is paid for this position with no cap, offering opportunities for career advancement and sales training. Regular Monday–Friday hours and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales within a wholesale/distribution setting is ideal.
• Ability to manage a geographic territory and grow customer relations.
• Experience with outbound calls, emails, and social outreach.

Responsibilities

• Manage all sales functions for an assigned geographic territory.

Hood Distribution, established in 1899, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber & plywood as well as related specialty wood products. We currently have twenty-three locations, providing distribution into eastern US as well as the Caribbean markets. Our primary customers turn our wood into something special.

Position Description:

• Manage all sales functions, administration, communication, and business planning for an assigned geographic territory.
• Grow customer relations.
• Grow existing customer sales.
• Methodically qualify, build, and manage an accurate sales base.
• Maintain a high volume of activity focusing on multiple touchpoints including outbound calls,emails, and social selling in a transactional, yet consultative, environment.
• Thrive on change while remaining highly organized, optimistic, and coachable.
