Job summary

Pep Boys in the United States is seeking a Territory Manager to oversee up to 15 Pep Boys service center locations around Birmingham, AL, leading Store Managers to drive people, performance, and profitability.

This hands-on leadership role requires frequent store visits, decisive problem solving, coaching, and a relentless focus on operational and financial results, including delivering sales growth and EBITDA.

Qualifications

• Multi-unit management experience in retail or service locations.
• Proven people leader with coaching and communication skills.
• Ability to resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively.
• Strong business acumen with P&L, staffing, and performance management.
• High learning agility and hands-on problem solving.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the territory.
• Associates/Technical Degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• 3–5 years supervisory experience and 3–5 years in automotive service.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Store Managers, serving as their primary partner for operations, staffing, customer service, and performance outcomes.
• Drive sales growth and profitability, monitoring P&L performance, labor and payroll costs, and store-level EBITDA; take proactive corrective action to achieve financial goals.
• Visit stores regularly (weekly to bi-weekly) to assess performance, coach managers, provide feedback, and resolve issues quickly.
• Drive people initiatives, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and HR issues in partnership with HR.
• Ensure a consistent, high-quality customer experience across all stores by setting expectations and reinforcing behaviors.
• Champion operational excellence and compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and service expectations.
• Partner with Market Leader and corporate teams to ensure stores have tools and insights to succeed.
• Develop Store Managers into strong leaders capable of building engaged, customer-focused teams delivering KPI targets.
