Terra Mae Restaurant in Portland's Alberta Arts Neighborhood is seeking enthusiastic bartenders to deliver outstanding service and bring our fusion menu to life. You will craft cocktails, serve wine and other beverages, and guide guests through our unique menu.

This role requires previous restaurant or bar experience, an active Food Handlers and Alcohol Certification, strong communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and welcome guests, ensuring a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
• Acquire a deep understanding of our food and drink menu, including ingredients and cultural background to provide informed recommendations.
• Prepare and serve craft cocktails, wine, and other beverages with precision and creativity.
• Accurately take and input food and beverage orders with timeliness and attention to detail.
• Keep the dining area and bar tidy, refilling drinks and clearing dishes as needed.

Job Summary

Terra Mae is seeking enthusiastic and skilled bartenders to deliver outstanding service and bring our unique menu to life. In this role, you will be a vital part of creating a memorable dining experience for our guests, guiding them through our fusion menu, preparing and serving creative cocktails, and ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Warmly greet and welcome guests, ensuring a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
• Menu Knowledge: Acquire a deep understanding of our food and drink menu, including ingredients, preparation techniques, and the cultural background of each dish, to provide informed recommendations to guests.
• Bartending: Prepare and serve craft cocktails, wine, and other beverages, maintaining precision and creativity in every drink.
• Order Taking: Accurately take and input food and beverage orders, ensuring timeliness and attention to detail.
• Food & Drink Presentation: Serve food and beverages with a keen eye for presentation, showcasing the quality and artistry of our culinary offerings.
• Table and Bar Maintenance: Keep the dining area and bar tidy, refilling drinks and clearing dishes as needed for a clean and welcoming environment.
• Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and communication.
• Upselling: Suggest menu items, pairings, and beverages to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
• Payment Processing: Accurately handle payments, issue receipts, and ensure a seamless checkout experience.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, or upscale dining environment required.
• Must hold an active Food Handlers and Alcohol Certification
• Passion for food, beverage, and cultural fusion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
