Job summary

Del Mar College in Corpus Christi invites applications for TERM Assistant Instructor - Reading Pool. This is a continuous recruitment to fill temporary assignments as needed, with a 40‑hour work week and a 40% teaching load in the Reading Lab.

Responsibilities include supervising the Reading Lab, scheduling staff, evaluating students, maintaining attendance and lab records, and assisting with budget and instructional materials. Open to all applicants; Open Date 11/10/2025.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Reading or related field is required.
• Teaching and one-to-one tutoring experience with traditional students is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and their use as instructional tools in the classroom; experience with A/V equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the Reading Lab.
• Maintain regular office hours and evaluate students with grades.
• Assist in development and maintenance of the operational budget and instructional materials.
• Work with Reading faculty to create instructional materials.
• Train and schedule part-time reading lab staff; keep attendance records; report equipment needs.
