Bowie State University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in Medical/Surgical/Critical Care Nursing in the Nursing department. The role combines teaching, clinical supervision, and scholarly activities to support growth and renewal of the program.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, participate in curriculum development, contribute to research and scholarship, and mentor student projects while serving on college committees.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Doctorate in Nursing or related area.
• Expertise in Medical/Surgical/Critical Care Nursing.
• Didactic teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Strong clinical expertise and ability to assess student outcomes.
• Expertise in critical care across the lifespan.
• Current or eligible nursing license in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.

Responsibilities

• Nursing faculty teach in the classroom and conduct clinical teaching.
• Research and publications are expected for tenure and promotion.
• Other duties include curriculum development and committee work such as grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and advisement.
