Job summary

Slippery Rock University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering beginning Spring 2027. The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate courses from fundamental engineering to upper-division ME, and use software such as CAD, CAM, MATLAB, Python, and LabVIEW.

They will establish a productive undergraduate research program, advise students, participate in department and university service, and contribute to ABET accreditation

Qualifications

PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field; candidates who will attain before spring 2027 will be considered.
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Commitment to education of diverse populations.
Successful performance in an on-campus interview including a teaching demonstration.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses from fundamental engineering to upper-division ME courses; use CAD, CAM, MATLAB, Python, and LabVIEW.
Establish a productive undergraduate research program involving undergraduates.
Advise students and participate in department/university service, including ABET accreditation.
