Job summary

CT State Community College is seeking an Assistant Professor (History) for the CT State Quinebaug Valley campus. The position is tenure-track, full-time, 10-month calendar with duties including teaching, service, and program development.

The candidate will teach up to 30 credit hours annually in history, in person with possible evening classes, and contribute to curriculum development and departmental activities. Spring or Fall 2027 start date; on-site location in Danielson, CT.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in History or a related discipline.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year across assigned courses in lecture, hybrid, and/or online formats.
• Evaluate and assess student learning outcomes.
• Provide student support, mentoring, and academic advising.
• Develop curriculum and update instructional materials; participate in program reviews and accreditation activities.
• Attend workshops and conferences to maintain currency in the field.
