Job summary

CT State Community College invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator role at the CT State Quinebaug Valley campus. The position combines teaching responsibilities with program coordination duties, on-site work, and collaboration with local organizations.

The successful candidate will teach courses, advise students, develop curricula, support accreditation efforts, and engage in university/community partnerships while balancing service and instructional

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education is required.
• Four years of college teaching experience (96+ credits).
• Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds including individuals with disabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Teach 30 credit hours per academic year in the assigned discipline.
• Deliver courses in lecture, hybrid, and/or online formats.
• Evaluate student learning outcomes and provide feedback.
• Advise and mentor students; support academic planning.
• Develop curricula and update instructional materials.
• Assist with program reviews and accreditation activities.
• Plan program-related events and participate in professional development.
• Attend workshops and conferences to stay current.
• Recruit, advise, and retain students; schedule program courses.
• Hire and evaluate faculty; build partnerships with local organizations and employers.
• Arrange internships and external partnerships; assess program improvements.
• Participate in committee work and events, including evenings and weekends.
