Job summary

CT State Community College is seeking an Assistant Professor of History at the CT State Quinebaug Valley campus in Danielson, CT. The candidate will teach 30 credit hours annually across lecture, hybrid, and online formats while developing syllabi and reading lists.

The successful applicant will respond to students and colleagues, coordinate curriculum, and participate in program reviews and campus activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in History or related discipline.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Teach thirty credit hours per academic year in the assigned discipline.
• Offer courses in lecture, hybrid, and online formats; day/evening schedules.
• Respond to students, peers, and external agencies; develop syllabi and reading lists.
• Develop curriculum and periodically update instructional materials.
• Assist with program reviews and accreditation activities.
• Plan and execute program-related events.
• Attend workshops, trainings, and professional conferences to stay current.
