Savannah State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Elementary Education with a focus on Science of Reading and Reading/Literacy. The role includes teaching undergraduate and post-baccalaureate courses, guiding preservice teachers in clinical settings, and contributing to program assessment and accreditation.

The position begins January 2027. ABD considered if doctorate will be completed within two years.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Elementary Education, Reading/Literacy, or related field; ABD considered if completion within two years.
• Graduate-level preparation in reading and Science of Reading.
• At least three years P-12 classroom teaching experience.
• Knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Experience with program assessment and accreditation.

Responsabilités

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Science of Reading/literacy, Elementary Education, and Middle Grades Education.
• Advise, mentor, supervise preservice teachers.
• Contribute to curriculum development and accreditation activities.
• Maintain documentation of student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Engage in scholarly research and professional development.
• Collaborate with P–12 partners to strengthen educator preparation.
