Job summary

Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant in Honolulu is hiring a Tenpura/Noodle Cook for morning or night shifts with immediate start. No experience required; training provided. Compensation ranges from $16 to $20 per hour plus tips, depending on experience and role.

We offer part-time or full-time positions, a busy kitchen environment, and opportunities to grow within the culinary team. Applicants must be reliable, able to work under pressure, and uphold high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Experience as line cook in a fast-paced kitchen preferred but not required.
• Strong cooking knowledge and equipment handling.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Assist with inventory management, including the receipt and storage of supplies.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to optimize workflow and efficiency.
• Monitor food stock levels and report any shortages or discrepancies.
• Participate in cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and facilities.
• Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements when appropriate.
