Job summary

Benderson Development Company is seeking a Tenant Account Representative to manage tenant accounts in a commercial real estate portfolio. The role focuses on proactive payment collection and clear communication to ensure timely rent payments and resolve billing issues.

You will monitor rent, CAM, utilities, and related charges, maintain accurate leasing payment records, and collaborate with leasing, legal, and billing teams to address discrepancies and process adjustments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in account collections, customer service, or related accounting field.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; experience with AS400 or MRI software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Payment Monitoring & Tracking: Review open rent reports and AR to identify late payments and update records.
• Tenant Communication & Collections: Contact tenants behind on payments and negotiate repayment plans.
• Account Management & Reporting: Track payments and agreements; verify fulfillment using scanned checks.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Address billing questions and provide reconciliations and adjusted invoices.
• Billing & Credit Adjustments: Calculate and document credits with management approval; coordinate with billing/lease teams.
• Collaboration with Leasing & Legal Teams: Work with agents, counsel, and collections staff on past-due accounts and weekly default meetings.
• Legal Coordination: Coordinate default actions and issue notices with external counsel for delinquent tenants.
• Bankruptcy Processing: Compile proof-of-claim reports and coordinate actions with collections paralegal.
