Job summary

The South Carolina DMV seeks a Temporary Titling & Licensing Specialist to support offices across the Low Country region, including Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Bluffton, Charleston, and more. The role handles drivers licenses, vehicle registrations, titles, and related processes.

Requires a high school diploma, clerical experience, and two years of customer service. Valid driver's license; background check; CDL trainer course before certifying tests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus clerical experience.
• Nationwide criminal background check including fingerprints prior to certification.
• Formal CDL test examiner trainer course and examination required before CDL knowledge tests.

Responsibilities

• Examine, accept, prepare, enter and print documents for driver licenses, permits and IDs across multiple classes.
• Create and edit customer name and address fields.
• Coordinate with banks, lienholders, dealerships for licensing and insurance issues.
• Process motor vehicle registration requests and issue dealership licenses.
• Determine service eligibility per SC laws and DMV policies.
• Answer inquiries via phone, email or mail and direct customers within the office.
