Job summary

South Carolina DMV (SCDMV) seeks a Titling & Licensing Specialist for a temporary assignment in the Low Country region (North Charleston area). Responsibilities include processing licenses, registrations and titles, handling fees, and assisting banks, dealerships and customers with inquiries.

Requirements include a high school diploma, ability to undergo background checks, and completion of CDL testing prerequisites.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent plus clerical experience.
Background check including fingerprints required before CDL testing.
Ability to pass New Employee Training and operate the Phoenix System.

Responsibilities

Examine, accept, prepare, enter and print documents for licenses, registrations and titles.
Manage business customer needs for licensing, insurance, and verifications.
Process motor vehicle registration requests and issue dealership licenses.
Determine service eligibility per SC law and DMV policies.
Administer knowledge tests for various license classes.
Verify eye screenings and review applications for fraud or license restrictions.
Answer customer inquiries on driver, vehicle, registration and insurance requirements.
Operate camera systems, software and equipment to issue credentials.
Collect fees, reconcile reports and handle cash/credit transactions.
Maintain records, perform routine tech maintenance, and assist with related duties.
