Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on a full-time, 36-hour evening shift at Mid Coast Hospital. The role emphasizes rapid assessment, planning and execution of patient care, with collaboration across care teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The RN will provide care for patients of all ages, meet licensure requirements, and maintain certifications within designated timeframes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current RN license; BLS required or to be obtained within 30 days.
  • ACLS and PALS required within 1 year for ICU/SCU/ED/PACU RNs; NRP for OB/NICU within 1 year.
  • One year of RN experience preferred.
  • Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for Labor & Delivery RNs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of outcomes.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.
  • Delegate and coordinate care with other team members as needed.

Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

This is a Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to candidates with greater than 1 year of RN work experience

Summary:

This is a Full-time, 36-hour, Evening shift position.

Unit Bio:

Mid Coast Hospital's Emergency Department has 26 beds and is staffed 24/7 by highly qualified nurses and physicians. The Emergency Department provides initial treatment to patients of all ages with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries. Team members provide rapid assessment and management of critical illnesses, as well as prompt care of minor illnesses and injuries.

The Registered Nurse – Temporary role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines.
  • Experience: One year of recent RN experience preferred.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required

The pay for this position is $75.00 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
