Job summary

The Unity Council in Oakland, CA is seeking a Property Manager (Temporary) to oversee all facets of affordable housing operations. You will manage leasing, income compliance, maintenance coordination, budgeting, and resident relations under a regulatory framework with City of Oakland agreements.

Responsibilities include supervising on-site staff, ensuring financial records accuracy, and coordinating with partners to support long-term housing stability for residents.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience managing affordable housing communities, preferably with LIHTC/HUD/PBV programs.
• At least one year of supervisory experience overseeing site-level staff.
• Familiarity with Fair Housing, ADA/504, and regulatory requirements; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily property operations to ensure safe, compliant housing for residents.
• Supervise on-site staff including Assistant Property Manager, Resident Manager, Maintenance, and Janitorial staff.
• Develop and monitor property budgets; review financial statements and address variances.
• Maintain rent rolls, vacancy reports, and financial documentation in Yardi or other approved software.
• Coordinate leasing activities and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and fair housing requirements.
