Job summary

Florida International University in Miami is seeking a Temporary Pre-College Tutor for grades 4-12 to provide in-person and online tutoring on FIU campus. You will work under the SAS team and support student learning, complete session feedback, and communicate progress to coordinators and directors.

Evening and weekend availability is encouraged to meet student needs. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma and 1 year of subject-area experience; preferred candidates may be pursuing

Job Summary

The Student Access and Success Department is currently seeking a Temporary Pre-College Tutor (Grade 4th to12th) - SAS to join their team of professionals to provide tutoring services to children in grades 4th to 12th grade on FIU campus.

Duties Include

• Will serve as tutor to middle & high school students in-person and online.
• Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
• Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within the first 30 days.
• Complete session feedback at the completion of each tutoring session.
• Communicate with Coordinators & Director as needed, based on the progress of students.
• Attend all required meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in subject areas or equivalent combination of education/experience.

• High reliability, good interpersonal communication skills, and ease in relating with students from varying educational and social backgrounds.
• Maintains professional skills and attitudes such as following policies, prioritizing, working safely, arriving promptly, attending regularly, maintaining a professional image, etc.
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
