Job summary

Florida International University (FIU) seeks a Community Involvement Specialist for the FIU All-Stars middle school enrichment program in Miami. The CIS will collect registration forms and communicate with parents about program activities and schedules.

Responsibilities include reviewing attendance, assisting with student registration, maintaining files, updating attendance records, and responding to inquiries from parents and students. Work schedule is 1:00pm-6:00pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Social Work, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Job Summary

The Community Engagement department within the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education is recruiting Community Involvement Specialists (CIS) for the FIU All-Stars middle school enrichment program. The CIS will collect registration forms and communicate with parents about the program and activities being held.

Duties Include

• Reviews attendance and checks Attendance Bulletin on a daily basis to verify accurate reporting of attendance. Contacts parents when student is absent. Maintains a log of telephone calls, including date and time of communication and outcome
• Assists program manager with registration of students
• Maintains updated program files and documents
• Prepares and maintains a variety of documents, including forms, routine correspondence, class lists, and announcements/program flyers
• Updates student attendance records including summary attendance sheets
• Performs registration activities: registers, transfers, and withdraws students; updates records/cards as required; processes student accident forms
• Responds to inquiries from parents and students regarding program offerings, attendance, and registration procedures
• Maintains student data spreadsheet and checks e-mail daily.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Social Work, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
