Job summary

Lucas Milhaupt, LLC. in Warwick, RI, seeks a Production Planner to plan and manage production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal use of capacity. You will update customer specs, rate structures, and routing for all value streams.

The role requires coordinating with Operations, Purchasing and Management to resolve material status and planning issues, while maintaining accurate schedules and inventory for smooth production flow.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of experience in production planning/materials controls function or equivalent.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management.
• Strong analytical and forecasting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Disposition of orders entered by Sales.
• Creation and entry of shop orders for fabrications and part production.
• Analyze sales order releases for capacity planning and material requirements.
• Manage inventory levels, schedules and availability to meet production plans.
• Create schedules for equipment in area of responsibility where applicable.
• Monitor open order schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Process new part put up/spec entry and updates to product levels for steady flow.
• Coordinate with Operations, Purchasing and Management on material status and planning issues.
• Review and update job scheduling per expedite requests.
• Perform trend analyses and collaborate with coordinators on material issuance and lot sizes.

JOB SUMMARY:

Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity. Updates and maintains new or existing customer specs along with all appropriate rates, routings, and other requirements for all value streams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Disposition of orders that are entered by Sales
• Creation and entry of shop orders (i.e. fabrication of all intermediate stock points as well as all custom parts)
• Analysis of sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements
• Management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected items to meet production schedules
• When applicable creates schedule for all equipment in area of responsibility
• Monitor open order schedules for issue of products and timely completion
• Processes new part put up/spec entry
• Monitors product levels to ensure steady flow and maximize equipment up time
• Interface with Operations, Purchasing and Management on material status and production planning issues
• Review and update job scheduling per expedite requests.
• Performs trend analysis
• Work effectively with coordinators to ensure material is issued correctly and in a timely manner.
• Participate in regular review of pull demand and recommend lot sizes and safety stock required.
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Microsoft Office, scheduling and data management.
• Solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
• Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation

EDUCATION

• Associate degree preferred.
• Two to four years of experience in a production planning/materials controls function or equivalent combination of education and experience.
