Job summary

Lucas Milhaupt, LLC is seeking a Production Planner to manage production schedules and ensure on-time delivery while optimizing capacity and materials flow. You will update customer specs, rates, routings, and support the value streams.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Sales, Operations, and Purchasing, creating shop orders, and monitoring inventory and equipment schedules to maximize uptime and meet production goals.

Qualifications

  • Two to four years of experience in a production planning/materials controls function or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
  • Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation

Responsibilities

  • Disposition of orders that are entered by Sales
  • Creation and entry of shop orders (fabrication of intermediate stock points and custom parts)
  • Analysis of sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements
  • Management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of items to meet production schedules
  • Create schedule for all equipment in area of responsibility
  • Monitor open order schedules for issue of products and timely completion
  • Monitors product levels to ensure steady flow and maximize equipment up time
  • Interface with Operations, Purchasing and Management on material status and production planning issues
  • Review and update job scheduling per expedite requests
  • Performs trend analysis
  • Coordinate with coordinators to ensure material issued correctly and timely
  • Participate in regular review of pull demand and recommend lot sizes and safety stock
  • Performs other duties as assigned

JOB SUMMARY:

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
