Temporary Part-time: Nursing Laboratory Assistant
Responsibilities
- Director of Nursing Programs.
Support the Lab Coordinator, Lab Staff, and Nursing Faculty.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.
- Prepares and cleans up the college nursing laboratories for scheduled lab classes.
- Cleans and maintains lab equipment including manikins and models.
- Orders and maintains laboratory supplies, maintains par levels and communicates with vendors for estimates/quotes, and informs the laboratory coordinator of needs.
- Organizes and maintains laboratory environment to ensure all equipment is in working order.
- Maintains simulation equipment and hardware warranties.
- Updates Pyxis and prepares simulated medications for use in skills lab.
- Tracks open lab hours for nursing students enrolled in CCC nursing courses in coordination with the CTE coach.
- Assists simulation faculty/teaching administrators in preparation for and during scheduled simulation exercises.
- Provides general assistance to the success of laboratory offerings in all Camden County College nursing courses.
- Works a flexible schedule, including day and evening hours.
- Travels between the Joint Health Sciences Center in Camden, NJ and Blackwood, NJ.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor and Director.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and bending constantly for a minimum of three hours per day.
- Sitting for up to five hours per day.
- Light lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Standing on a ladder and reaching above the head.
- Availability for travel between campus locations on a regular basis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Certification in a health-related field or Associate in Science (AS) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Computer competencies including Microsoft Office, Canvas, Electronic Health Records, and Google Suite.
