Story County is seeking a temporary data entry clerk to support voter registration and absentee ballot processing.
Responsibilities include data entry, preparing ballot packets, scanning documents, and assisting with in-person absentee voting as needed. High school diploma and basic computer skills required; prior election experience preferred but not required.
Performs computer data entry of voter registration and absentee ballots, equipment testing, ballot maintenance, and filing.
Start Date: October 5, 2026
End Date: Dictated by workload following Election Day
Typical hours are 9:00 - AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with possible work on Saturdays
High School Graduate or equivalent. General computer skills, organizational office skills, and attention to detail. Previous election experience is preferred, but not necessary.
Story County participates in E-Verify and will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each applicant's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. All candidates who are offered a position with Story County must complete Section 1 of Form I-9 along with the required proof of their right to work in the United States and proof of their identity.
