Essential Job Duties

Assist in product development of plant-based beverages, meat substitutes, bakery and confections; scale up and product commercialization of both food & beverage ingredients and finished products; develop standard operating procedures, research current and future processing techniques, perform quality testing and shelf life studies on food samples; assist in ordering and stocking ingredients; generate and fill out batch records; assist in pilot plant trials; regularly clean and sanitize pilot plant equipment; develop product specifications for food samples; participate in client visits; assist in photography and videography sessions; adhere to cGMP.

Work Schedule

30 hours per week

Minimum Experience / Education

• Food Science or Culinary graduate or student working towards those degrees.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of culinary and/or food science and application to food.
• Attention to detail, particularly with regard to food safety and hygiene.
• Knowledge of and adherence to the correct operation of food service equipment.
• Excellent communication skills with staff and clients.
• Ability to work independently.
• Critical thinking skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Food science or culinary education (3 years or more of either on-the-job training or education).

Compensation

Anticipated hiring range: $15-$18 per hour.
