Job summary

Augusta County Library is seeking a Substitute Library Station Manager to provide temporary leadership and day-to-day management of library stations when the regular manager is unavailable. You will ensure safe, welcoming, responsive service while building strong community relationships.

This on-site, part-time role requires flexibility for coverage, including Saturdays, with a focus on delivering excellent patron assistance and maintaining collections and operations across stations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; library experience preferred.
• Experience delivering courteous and effective customer service.
• Ability to operate library technology and ILS.

Responsibilities

• Cover library stations when the regular Library Station Manager is absent, handling opening/closing and daily operations.
• Assist patrons with circulation, reference, and reader's advisory; instruct in library facilities, technology, and electronic resources.
• Interpret and enforce library policies for patrons, volunteers, and staff.
• Maintain the collection through shelf-reading, organization, and displays.
• Represent the library at community events and supervise volunteers when needed.
