Position: Temporary General Engineer

Location: The Warwick Hotel Rittenhouse Square, a Marriott Bonvoy Hotel

Duration: 30-60 days

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate; lunch included

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Temporary General Engineer to support our in-room hotel project focusing on preventative and restorative maintenance. This role involves completing a specific list of tasks in each room to ensure that all spaces meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. The position is temporary, with a maximum duration of 30-60 days with a very flexible schedule around your current other schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Complete a defined list of maintenance tasks for each room.
2. Inspect and address any identified issues related to hotel room infrastructure.
3. Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards and protocols.
4. Coordinate with the engineering team to maintain efficient workflow.
5. Provide regular updates to the Facilities Manager on project progress.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in general maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
2. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
3. Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
4. Knowledge of hotel infrastructure and systems is a plus.
5. Physical capability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.

Example of Daily Tasks:

1. Bag and linen or room supplies and place in closet.
2. Bathroom floor grout removed and replaced.
3. Remove caulk and provide new caulk for bathtub, toilet, and sink.
4. Prep tub and glazing if needed.
5. Fix drywall in bathroom and unit as needed.
6. Tighten up and/or reinstall some wall vinyl as needed.
7. Confirm proper adjustment for guest room door/lock.
8. Repaint full wall or ceiling if paint needed.
9. Touch up furniture and interior door as needed.
10. Check electric outlets for power and leveling as needed.
11. Clean carpets and replace furniture to original positions for all rooms.
12. Allow time required to return room to 'Apartment Check-In Clean.'
13. Other items noted will be put on a per-room checklist of items for other engineering team members to complete.
