Job summary

Breg, Inc. is seeking a Temporary Health Information Management Specialist I to support our Albuquerque, NM site.

You will manage medical records, ensure HIPAA compliance, and assist with the claim lifecycle using EMR and BCS systems. In this fast-paced role you’ll retrieve records, verify patient data, perform pre-scan validation, and help improve HIM processes while maintaining accuracy, quality, and timely revenue recognition for orthopedic solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical billing or HIM duties.
• EMR navigation and CPT/ICD-10 coding knowledge.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Proficient MS Office; ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Obtains medical records and supporting documentation; secures incomplete data for claims submission.
• Examines documents and places them in the correct paper/electronic record.
• Performs pre-scan validation to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
• Verifies patient identification and medical necessity per LCD policy.
