Breg is hiring a Health Information Management Specialist I to join our Albuquerque, NM team (with Phoenix, AZ as a secondary location). You will obtain medical records, verify patient IDs, and support claim processing within HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 3+ years in medical billing or HIM, EMR navigation, and CPT/ICD-10 knowledge. Proficiency with MS Office is expected; benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in medical billing or HIM related duties required.
• Experience with EMR navigation, CPT and ICD-10 codes.

Responsibilities

• Obtains medical records and supporting documentation.
• Verifies patient identification and organizes records.
• Performs pre-scan validation of claims to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance for patient information.
• Assists with administrative tasks and office operations as needed.
