Job summary

24 Hour Fitness is seeking a Temporary General Manager to drive membership sales, revenue, and club performance. You will lead a high-performing team, oversee operations and safety, and build a welcoming community that delivers an exceptional member experience.

You will coach staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance while targeting ambitious sales goals and profitability. This role emphasizes leadership and accountability within a fitness-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of management experience in the broader retail/hospitality/fitness industry.
• 2-4 years of progressive management supervising 3-10+ employees.
• CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Personal Training certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to drive membership sales, fitness, retail, and other revenue streams, exceeding targets.
• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team with shared goals.
• Provide ongoing support, coaching, and leadership with clear objectives.
• Drive a welcoming, community-focused club environment and member engagement.
• Oversee day-to-day club operations, maintenance, and cleanliness.
• Manage budgets, control expenses, and maximize profitability.
• Implement safety protocols to protect members and staff.
• Build relationships within the local community and represent the gym at events.
• Develop and execute member retention programs and incentives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Maintain a schedule aligned to peak business hours (e.g., 9:00–7:00 or 10:00–8:00).
