Job summary

The Archdiocese of Washington is hiring a Temporary Maintenance Technician to support its facilities. Hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with pay at $25.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Reports to the Executive Director of Real Estate and Facilities and is based in Hyattsville, MD. Responsibilities include performing maintenance, inspections, reporting, and coordinating preventive work across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems while maintaining safety and professionalism

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 1–2 years office service or customer service experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical skills.
• Ability to install/repair fixtures and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with Pastoral Center and Facilities staff.
• Perform maintenance, service requests, inspections, and preventive tasks.
• Prepare maintenance reports for service requests.
• Maintain daily logs and provide written copies.
• Inspect roofs, exterior drains, and building envelopes.
• Schedule preventive maintenance for HVAC, elevator, fire alarm, and security systems.
