Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) invites applications for an Eligibility Advisor I - Temporary in Dumas, Texas. You will interview applicants, determine eligibility for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid, and enter data into electronic systems.

This temporary role offers paid training and a supportive AES team, with opportunities to grow within HHSC while serving Texas families and meeting regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college hours preferred.
• One year of customer service experience with public contact.
• Experience interviewing clients and gathering information is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, apply and explain regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants or recipients to determine eligibility for public assistance.
• Evaluate data from sources to enter information into eligibility systems.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work per state/federal regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
