Job summary

City of Fresno is recruiting for Temporary Community Recreation Assistants. Under supervision, incumbents plan, organize, and conduct specialized recreation and/or community service activities.

They also provide workshops in areas including sports, arts, science, and senior programs, and serve as park attendants. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, six months of relevant experience, CPR and First Aid within 90 days, and a valid CA driver’s license if required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Six (6) months of experience in a community services and recreation environment.
• CPR and First Aid Certificates are required within 90 days of hire.
• Valid California Driver's License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, plan, organize, and conduct specialized recreation and/or community service activities.
• Provide workshops/classes in sports, music, science, fitness/nutrition, technology, special events, and senior programs.
• Serve as park attendants; verify park reservations; ensure facilities and picnic areas are clean and ready for use; report maintenance issues.
