Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Student teaching completed and coursework for teaching certificate.
• License Requirements: PEL or ELS endorsed for teaching position.
• Knowledge of subject matter and contemporary teaching practices.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet student needs and to work with diverse groups.
• Strong oral and written communication and professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional lessons and prepare written lesson plans aligned with objectives.
• Maintain attendance records and seating charts; monitor student progress.
• Communicate with parents about progress, attendance, and conduct; conduct conferences as needed.
• Apply current teaching methods and materials; participate in professional development.
• Enforce classroom rules and public school discipline policies; coordinate field trips and after-school activities.
