Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Position purpose: Reporting to the Senior Director of Career Education and Employer Initiatives, the Career Development Coordinator provides operational support for the Massey Career Development Center. The role supports student career development and employer relations efforts across the Massey College of Business. Serves as a point of contact and participates in managing relationships with students, employers, alumni, and external partners.

This is a temporary position, with an anticipated end date of Mid-September.

Essential Functions:

  1. Employer Relations: Provide information to new and existing employers about recruiting services and internship programs within the Massey College of Business. Maintain employer contacts, follow up on recruiting options and timelines, manage recruitment requests, market job and internship opportunities to students and alumni. (25%)
  2. Student Career Development: Advise and educate undergraduate business students and young alumni on internships and job searches, match career objectives to opportunities, provide career coaching (resumes, cover letters, interviews), train students on online career systems, and discuss career assessments. (25%)
  3. Career Management Systems: Maintain platforms like Handshake, Alumnifire, Canvas, Suitable, and Quinncia. Assist users, track internship agreements, generate reports, and ensure data accuracy. (15%)
  4. Events/Campus Recruiting: Coordinate employer engagement events, oversee planning and logistics for employer visits, coffee chats, discipline-specific events, and large-scale events like Accounting Meet the Firms and Business and Technology Career Expo. (15%)
  5. Data and List Management: Track internship agreements, report engagement data, maintain employer and candidate lists, and manage the Alumni Career Network. (10%)
  6. Customer Service/Operations: Manage inquiries, assist students, graduates, and employers, and support daily operations of the Career Development Center including scheduling, communications, purchasing, room reservations, and student worker coordination. (10%)

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong empathy and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with business career paths and recruiting.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, responding effectively to high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work with diverse constituencies.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience: Two years in higher education, human resources, or talent acquisition/recruiting. A background check is required.
