Job summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. in New York is seeking a Specialist, Benefits (Temporary) to oversee benefit carrier performance across health, welfare and retirement plans.

You will manage leave benefits, ensure accurate plan administration, and assist in the absence of the Benefits Manager. The role requires at least 5 years in Benefits Administration, strong knowledge of FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, Section 125, and ADA, plus excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge required.
• Minimum of 5 yrs. Benefits Administration experience with strong knowledge of FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, Section 125, ADA and applicable laws.
• Knowledge of office equipment and MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews benefit events and approves enrollment as appropriate.
• Resolves benefit eligibility and payroll deduction issues with vendors and employees.
• Reviews and pays benefit invoices; handles annual Open Enrollment materials.
• Maintains plan procedures and assists in eligibility audits.
• Supports 401(k) contributions, match, and compliance matters.
• Advises HR regional reps on disability and workers' compensation laws and processes.
• Maintains relationships with vendors and communicates plan changes.
