Job summary

Hartford Public Schools seeks a Temporary Behavior Technician to implement a positive behavior management system at Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy. You will collect data, train staff in de-escalation, and support climate improvement to raise student behavior and academic skills.

The position is 11-month and ends March 30, 2026, with a salary grid of $57,744–$69,553. A CPI certification can be completed after employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Knowledge of FERPA and Use of Force Policy preferred.
• Familiarity with Behavior Services policies and system implementations.
• Experience with verbal intervention/de-escalation techniques and crisis management procedures.
• Ability to document interventions using state/district forms.

Responsibilities

• Records behavioral data timely and accurately.
• Reviews data and notifies supervisor of relevant information.
• Leads FBA interviews and prepares behavior reports.
• Supports classroom staff in implementing behavior management systems.
• Participates in crisis management as directed.
• Communicates with staff, parents, and other agencies regarding student needs.
• Maintains clean and orderly student areas and supports after-school program.
